The Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management program at UC Irvine focuses on professionally training advanced students to enhance their skills, knowledge, and capabilities in production stage management.
Participants explore the art and science of stage management through quarterly thematic studies. The curriculum covers dramatic literature, theatrical development, conceptual collaboration, and script interpretation to strengthen communication within production teams. M.F.A. candidates can also diversify their expertise by selecting from a broad array of supplementary courses, such as combat choreography, vocal training, design and construction disciplines, as well as university-wide offerings like business administration, foreign languages, and engineering.

For those international applicants that are required to take the TOEFL test to measure English language proficiency, a minimum score of 80 is considered passing. To be eligible to receive a teaching assistantship, a minimum score on the speaking portion of 26 is required.
