Our hands-on vocational training empowers students to delve into diverse performance disciplines such as theater, musicals, opera, cinema, choreography, amusement parks, and event production. Being near Los Angeles, UC Irvine offers unparalleled access to costume resources, fabric suppliers, rental companies, research facilities, and valuable industry networks.

The curriculum equips graduates for professional success by balancing costume creation as both an artistic pursuit and logistical endeavor. We mentor students to visualize creatively, transforming inspiration into tangible designs that breathe life into narratives while honoring cultural contexts. Our program fosters leadership within collaborative artistic environments.

With only two annual admissions, we maintain an intimate learning environment with six total costume design students. Graduate candidates lead two to three fully-funded productions, supplemented by additional opportunities including masterclasses, dance performances, directing projects, and thesis films throughout their three-year immersive experience.
