The Paul Merage School of Business accepts Ph.D. applicants exclusively for the fall quarter, with a January 4 application deadline. This full-time doctoral program strongly recommends submitting prior academic work (such as research papers, essays, or case studies) to showcase applicants' interests and abilities.

The Ph.D. in Management welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds. While holding a master's degree is advantageous, exceptional candidates may enter directly after completing their bachelor's degree. Suitable undergraduate majors span multiple disciplines including psychology, political science, business administration, mathematics, computer science, economics, and sociology. The program also welcomes applicants from unconventional fields like natural sciences, humanities, and arts. This doctoral curriculum trains future scholars for academic careers across management specialties such as organizational behavior, strategic management, operations, information systems, finance, accounting, and marketing. The program mandates comprehensive knowledge of fundamental management areas, advanced research proficiency, and completion of an original dissertation.
