The Bachelor of Science in Public Health Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Policy programs equip students with interdisciplinary skills for public health practice and research. These degree programs examine both quantitative and qualitative dimensions of public health across various analytical levels. Graduates will progress into selective careers or advanced education, emerging as the next wave of public health experts ready to tackle modern health challenges from a population standpoint with innovative disease prevention strategies. Aspiring premedical students should be aware that medical school prerequisites extend beyond the public health degree requirements. Prospective public health majors should thoroughly assess their academic background and professional aspirations before committing to either the B.S. or B.A. program. While switching between degree programs is permitted, it necessitates fulfilling all specified lower- and upper-division coursework for each program. Students may also pursue both the B.S. and B.A. as a double major, provided they meet all requirements for both degrees.
