UCI's Game Design and Interactive Media program equips students to become creative pioneers and future leaders in the industry. Guided by globally-renowned faculty and professional experts, the curriculum features a distinctive two-year core with practical training in world creation, game design, programming, and game analysis. Learners then advance to specialized courses, completing their studies with an intensive two-quarter capstone experience guided by industry professionals. Optional courses in advanced game creation, coding, narrative design, business strategies, and gaming culture allow students to craft personalized portfolios aligned with their aspirations. The program covers both traditional and cutting-edge platforms, from AR/VR to board games and smartphone applications. Situated in Silicon Beach, participants gain exclusive connections to major companies including Blizzard, Riot Games, EA, Obsidian, Age of Learning, Disney, Tencent, and Cartoon Network.
