Students pursuing any of the three Economics degree options can specialize in International Issues and Economics. The Department highly recommends the Quantitative Economics major as it provides optimal preparation for careers in finance and business, legal education, MBA programs, and advanced studies in social sciences. Economics examines how individuals and societies manage limited resources and allocate goods and services. Every scenario involving decisions between competing options represents an economic challenge. Economics coursework explores individual decision-making (microeconomics), governmental policy choices (public choice), and the broader impacts of these decisions (macroeconomics). The curriculum also covers global commerce, monetary systems, and economic growth in developing countries.
