Progress in healthcare and life sciences is transforming individuals, communities, and global systems, driving growing need for legal professionals specializing in healthcare law. UC Davis School of Law's Health Care Law and Bioethics program allows students to explore three fundamental disciplines: healthcare legislation, bioethical principles, and public health regulations.

This concentration examines essential subjects like medical malpractice, healthcare regulations, ethical dilemmas in medicine, population health policies, reproductive rights, biotechnological advancements, and protections for individuals with disabilities. Graduates pursue varied career paths across these specialties, from medical litigation to biotechnology policy and disability advocacy.

UC Davis Law emphasizes hands-on legal training for every student. Those focusing on healthcare law often complete judicial externships, honing critical writing, research, and negotiation abilities for professional practice. Moot court programs further develop litigation and persuasive argument skills. Students broaden their learning through involvement in the law school's approximately 40 student groups and five academic publications.
