Students pursuing animal science and management receive comprehensive training that spans both animal science disciplines and business fundamentals like marketing, economics, and accounting. As members of one of the world's premier animal science departments, learners develop essential competencies for thriving in modern business environments and animal-related professions. This program equips students for dynamic careers across animal agriculture - from overseeing livestock for food and fiber production to managing companion animal services. The curriculum begins with core scientific coursework covering nutrition, genetics, physiology, and animal behavior before allowing specialization in preferred species (such as equines, bovines, canines, felines, or aquatic life) alongside business principles.
This major specifically targets career preparation for agribusiness leadership roles, offering a robust curriculum in agricultural commerce including marketing, economic principles, and financial accounting. Simultaneously, students build their expertise in animal science fundamentals. The Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Management appeals to those seeking a dual foundation in biological sciences and business administration within the agricultural sector.
