The Berkeley Master of Public Affairs (MPA) is an intensive one-year, 30-unit program tailored for experienced professionals across government, business, and nonprofit sectors. MPA candidates are career-driven individuals preparing for elevated leadership positions and policy-oriented responsibilities within their organizations and professional networks. Qualification Requirements

You must hold or expect to hold prior to the beginning of classes a bachelor's degree from a U.S. school accredited by one of the AACRAO regional accrediting agencies. International applicants of recognized academic institutions outside the United States must hold a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree. Upload unofficial transcripts with the application for the departmental initial review. Unofficial transcripts must include at a minimum the name of the institution, your full name, and a chronological listing of all classes and grades.

For purposes of admission, your most recent score must be at least 90 for the Internet-based test (IBT), and 570 for the paper-based format (PBT). For Fall 2022, tests taken before June 1, 2020 will not be accepted. Your most recent overall Band score must be at least 7 on a 9-point scale.
