The Conservation and Resource Studies (CRS) program offers a customizable interdisciplinary curriculum for students passionate about environmental challenges and the intersections between natural resources, human populations, energy systems, technological advancements, social structures, and cultural perspectives. Learners integrate courses from across the university and relevant community-based resources to craft personalized academic paths.
This major emphasizes adaptability and tailored learning experiences to comprehend the composition and evolving nature of intricate environmental systems within both human society and the natural world. It fosters collaboration between students, educators, and community members. While the program provides guidance for students to define their focus areas, it intentionally maintains broad possibilities for exploration. Potential study areas encompass environmental equity and awareness, sustainable global development, energy policy, cultural conservation, international environmental relations, and ecosystem rehabilitation strategies.
Alumni enter diverse professional fields including environmental assessment, teaching, public health, legal practice, urban development planning, and other environmental sectors within government bodies, conservation nonprofits, and corporate enterprises. The program also provides excellent preparation for advanced studies in various disciplines, including legal education.
