Our master's program in education culture, policy, and society is designed for those interested in examining education's societal impact from preschool through college. You'll examine how institutional structures, policies, and practices influence personal development and shape social, economic, and academic results. This three-semester curriculum investigates educational systems through comprehensive social, cultural, political, and historical lenses, both in the U.S. and internationally. Special emphasis is placed on analyzing educational approaches for underserved communities, particularly historically disadvantaged racial/ethnic groups in America (such as African Americans, Latinos/as, and English language learners) and economically disadvantaged populations. The program also addresses gender inequalities in education, socioeconomic access, and global achievement gaps. Students can specialize in comparative international education policies and methodologies.
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution is required.
