As the pioneer of SUNY's first doctoral program in women's studies, the Department of Global Gender and Sexuality Studies provides an intensive interdisciplinary PhD program focusing on women's, gender, and sexuality studies. Our faculty excel in diverse fields including literary studies, visual and media analysis, science research, sociological inquiry, historical perspectives, disability research, political philosophy, race and postcolonial studies, gender policy analysis, artistic and cultural studies, along with feminist, queer, and transgender theory. Graduates from our Global Gender and Sexuality Studies PhD program have secured positions in academia as well as roles in policy-making, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and beyond.
