Statement of Purpose (not to exceed 1,000 words)
Generally, successful applicants have a strong background in either a geographic, cultural region and/or a particular topical or theoretical interest in anthropology. This essay should make such backgrounds and interests very clear. Also, please convey your intellectual trajectory, and explain why you seek training in anthropology and why you seek it at University at Buffalo, stating clearly the plan of study you propose to undertake.
Provide the contact information for three (3) confidential letters of recommendation from persons familiar with your academic work. Each reviewer will each receive an email invitation to the online recommendation portal where letters can be uploaded, and a brief form completed. Please ensure to fill in all contact information fields for your reviewers.
