Medical Laboratory Science, which applies biology and chemistry principles, suits students focused on healthcare service delivery.
Medical Laboratory Scientists, known as clinical laboratory scientists, act as healthcare investigators. They employ analytical methods to uncover evidence that assists in diagnosing, treating, and preventing illnesses or injuries, and supports patient wellness.The curriculum is multidisciplinary, extensively utilizing resources from both natural sciences and health sciences departments. After program admission, students complete three academic semesters at the university with courses in biochemistry, immunology, instrumentation, clinical chemistry, microbiology, blood banking, hematology, coagulation, parasitology, mycology, urinalysis, biomolecular techniques, medical genetics, and management. The final semester of senior year involves rotations through program-affiliated hospital laboratories.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
