The Bachelor of Arts in Music program offers the greatest flexibility within the Department, making it perfect for students who want to combine another major, minor, or university certificate with their music studies, or for those aiming to continue music education in graduate school. BA students engage with the same rigorous music theory and history coursework as performance majors, while enjoying the freedom to tailor their studies to personal interests. Specifically, BA candidates can design their elective coursework to concentrate on specialized areas like performance, composition, electronic music, or music history and theory. The program's framework begins with core courses in the first two years, followed by specialized electives in creative, academic, and performance disciplines during the junior and senior years. To culminate their studies, students undertake a semester-long music internship in their final year, customized to align with their post-graduation aspirations.
