Computer scientists explore algorithmic complexity and computational boundaries, develop artificial intelligence solutions, enable universal information access, and create secure, efficient software and communication networks. They operate across all industries, government agencies, and societal sectors. The University at Buffalo provides both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science. Each degree equips students for advanced studies or careers in computing and IT, with the BS offering deeper specialization in computer science while the BA promotes broader academic exploration.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
