The University of Arizona's Applied Biosciences (ABS) program, part of the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) under the Graduate College, offers a specialized Professional Science Master's degree. This program equips students with essential skills for biotechnology and health science careers through comprehensive training in applied biosciences and professional development in business, research, and regulatory affairs. A required internship enhances the ABS curriculum, providing hands-on experience. Over two years, students develop expertise in applying biological sciences to address challenges encountered by both public and private sectors.
Within the ABS GIDP, the Medical Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) concentration aims to educate students for careers in biomedical sciences. This track emphasizes advanced training in medical microbiology, immunology, and virology, preparing graduates for diverse opportunities in the field.
