Graduate students who have earned an accredited bachelor's degree may pursue master's degrees. These programs provide specialized education through rigorous coursework that builds upon undergraduate studies, focusing on a specific discipline while including complementary subjects. A thesis or engineering report is mandatory. Departments may also grant this degree to Ph.D. candidates who have completed their comprehensive exams and submitted either a thesis or engineering report.
The Department provides Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Engineering (M.E.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. The M.S. program features two tracks: (i) a thesis-based path and (ii) a non-thesis alternative. The thesis option is designed for students seeking focused expertise and collaborative research opportunities with faculty members.
