The Master of Public Health (MPH) is an interdisciplinary professional degree focused on public health. The MPH Program equips students with comprehensive knowledge and fundamental skills across core public health disciplines. Learners can develop expertise in specialized fields through advanced studies while gaining hands-on experience addressing real-world health challenges during internship placements. This full-time program typically spans two years, though part-time students have up to six years to finish. The MPH curriculum and core course activities are shaped by established competencies, which also inform prospective students, employers, and stakeholders about graduates' knowledge and capabilities from the MEZCOPH MPH program.
The Public Health Practice specialization within the MPH is a college-wide interdisciplinary program that trains students for diverse roles in government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community settings, including health departments, Indian Health Service, Medicare/Medicaid systems, hospitals, and health centers.
Participants develop skills to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, creating, managing, and assessing public health initiatives for underserved populations.
This concentration suits students comfortable with hybrid learning formats combining online, video conference, and in-person instruction. Ideal candidates typically have academic preparation in public health or relevant field experience through work or volunteer positions in public health programs.
