The Master of Public Health (MPH) is an interdisciplinary professional degree focused on public health practice. The MPH curriculum offers students comprehensive training in fundamental public health principles while allowing specialization through advanced courses. Learners develop practical skills by addressing real-world health issues during fieldwork placements. Full-time students typically finish in two years, while part-time participants have up to six years to complete requirements. The program's competencies shape its coursework and learning objectives, giving applicants, students, and employers clear expectations about graduate capabilities.
The One Health MPH concentration, managed by the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department, applies an integrated approach to public health. This perspective acknowledges that solving complex health challenges requires collaboration across human, animal, and environmental health disciplines. The program prepares students to implement One Health strategies for local and global health problems, drawing on expertise from multiple MEZCOPH departments and University-wide resources.
