The Master of Public Health (MPH) program offers an interdisciplinary professional education in public health. This curriculum equips students with foundational knowledge and essential skills across core public health disciplines. Learners can develop expertise in specific concentrations through advanced studies while gaining hands-on experience addressing real-world health challenges during field placements. The full-time track spans two years, while part-time participants have up to six years to finish. Program competencies shape the MPH curriculum's structure and learning objectives for required courses. These publicly available competency standards inform applicants, students, employers, and stakeholders about graduates' knowledge base and capabilities from the MEZCOPH MPH program.
Climate change represents humanity's most pressing global challenge. Extreme weather events including droughts, floods, powerful storms, and wildfires have already forced mass migrations and created food shortages worldwide. These environmental catastrophes trigger numerous health consequences, disproportionately affecting marginalized and impoverished populations. Public health professionals possess unique capabilities to address these issues. Their methodologies and initiatives enable societies to anticipate health emergencies and develop resilience strategies when climate-related disasters jeopardize community health and quality of life.
