The Master of Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) program prepares future leaders pursuing administrative certification and leadership careers. This 36-credit program follows a cohort model that the University of Arizona's Educational Leadership programs have successfully implemented for years. Students build both professional and personal networks through this approach, supporting their journey toward advanced degree completion. The M.Ed. also establishes strong academic groundwork for those contemplating doctoral studies in educational leadership later. While primarily concentrating on K-12 educational leadership, the curriculum's principles extend to various leadership roles across multiple fields.
The standard M.Ed. schedule includes two courses each fall and spring semester, plus four summer courses during the first year. Classes typically meet weekly in the evenings at the Tucson campus, using diverse formats including in-person, hybrid, and occasional fully online sessions. Currently, the M.Ed. program isn't available as a completely remote option, requiring in-person attendance for all enrolled students.
