Our program's goal is to train skilled counselors who can support individuals of all ages, including those with disabilities. The curriculum integrates core principles from clinical mental health, clinical rehabilitation, and school counseling. By emphasizing leadership, advocacy, teamwork, data utilization, and proactive measures, our graduates will excel at recognizing and addressing obstacles that limit equal access to education, social inclusion, environmental resources, and career prospects. They will commit to fostering personal growth, empowerment, and improved quality of life for all communities they serve.
The School Counseling specialization equips graduates to obtain state certification as School Counselors and become essential contributors to educational teams. Those selecting this focus will qualify for Arizona certification as school counselors while also fulfilling the academic prerequisites for Arizona's Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential. Future school counselors will guide students in academic success, personal/social growth, and career planning.
