The Master of Arts in Applied Archaeology leverages the School's expertise in North American and indigenous archaeology. This growing Anthropology specialization focuses on generating and applying knowledge in practical settings. Our two-year M.A. program at the University of Arizona provides comprehensive training in both academic content and professional competencies, preparing graduates for careers with consulting firms, government entities, tribal organizations, and archaeological nonprofits.
Students receive theoretical and methodological instruction in anthropology, hands-on training in specialized laboratory techniques, regional archaeological specialization courses, and professional development through internships.
Located in a hub for applied archaeology professionals, our program actively collaborates with practitioners from private firms, government agencies, and nonprofit archaeological organizations.
