COURSE PREREQUISITES: Undergraduate course prerequisites in science and mathematics must be completed with a grade of C (or equivalent) or higher. Grades of D or lower are considered to be deficient. Courses include:
Physical Geology: One semester course
College Chemistry, Inorganic/Analytical: A 2-semester sequence
College Physics: A 2-semester sequence, including one course in Introductory Mechanics and one course in Optics/Thermodynamics or Electricity/Magnetism
Fluid mechanics or Hydraulics: One semester
Mathematics: Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Vector Calculus, Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations
Engineering Statistics or Probability Theory: One semester
Grades of C or higher are required for undergraduate courses, the Graduate College does not recognize courses with completed with a grade less than a C (2.0). Students must have no more than four undergraduate deficiency courses at the time of matriculation (semester beginning coursework) and must have completed at least two semesters of calculus.
A minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale (to be awarded the program certificate, students must achieve at least a 3.0 graduate GPA).

The GRE exam is no longer required for any student, domestic or international.
