The American Indian Studies Program (AIS), supported by the School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE), provides a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate focused on administering and managing Native American natural resources. To earn this Certificate, participants must finish a 12-credit curriculum covering core and specialized courses. Structured for completion within one to two academic years starting each fall, the program accommodates both standalone students and those pursuing concurrent graduate or professional degrees.
This Certificate prepares graduate students and professionals to address natural resource challenges on and off tribal lands. While the University of Arizona offers exceptional, specialized resource management programs, there remains a need for foundational training for graduate and professional students pursuing careers in Tribal natural resource governance.
