This mathematics program establishes a strong foundation for advanced studies in finance and related fields. Students pursuing either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an Economics and Business concentration acquire comprehensive theoretical understanding of the mathematical principles that underpin economic and financial systems. They will select a complementary minor from options such as Finance, Economics, or Personal and Family Financial Planning. The curriculum provides undergraduates with fundamental mathematical knowledge applicable to diverse professional sectors. Whether students aspire to tackle macroeconomic challenges or specialize in banking, financial analysis, or economic projections, their expertise will be highly sought after.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Utilize computational techniques, Mathematics students must demonstrate proficiency in applying computational approaches and mathematical theories to examine scientific challenges
Implement mathematical frameworks to contemporary issues, Students should develop the capacity to critically assess and expand upon existing mathematical models in modern scientific research.
Construct sound proofs, Learners must demonstrate the ability to select suitable proof methodologies and consistently produce accurate proofs using various strategies when appropriate.
Articulate concepts with precision, Mathematical precision is paramount, and students must master the skill of formulating exact definitions for mathematical terms.
Present findings effectively, Mathematics graduates should possess the ability to clearly convey complex results to general audiences through both written and oral presentations.
Assess argument validity, Mathematical reasoning demands strict logical rigor. We expect mathematics students to cultivate the ability to discern valid arguments while identifying logical inconsistencies and weaknesses.
