The University of Arizona's College of Medicine offers a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) tailored for nationally or state-certified paramedics currently working in the field. EMS majors receive specialized instruction in leadership and critical care for patients of all ages through courses led by seasoned emergency medicine professionals. The curriculum covers essential topics including EMS operations, disaster management, specialized medical responses, legal aspects of emergency care, and providing services in rural, wilderness, and resource-limited environments. This completely online degree provides flexibility for active paramedics and students located outside Arizona or on deployment. While paramedic certification is mandatory, applicants don't need to hold an associate degree from a community college.
