For those passionate about teaching and working with K-12 students, pursuing a Mild to Moderate Disabilities major could be an excellent choice. This program provides training for supporting students with autism spectrum disorders, learning and intellectual challenges, as well as emotional and behavioral difficulties. The University of Arizona offers a 60-credit Bachelor of Science in Education focused on Mild to Moderate Disabilities, designed for future special education teachers. The curriculum spans three semesters of coursework covering effective teaching strategies and specialized content knowledge. The final semester features a hands-on internship in special education classrooms, allowing students to gain practical experience working with children who have mild to moderate disabilities. Graduates complete the program fully prepared to positively impact students' educational journeys.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country.
International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:
