Adopt an interdisciplinary, hands-on physics education to prepare for tackling real-world challenges in your career. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics is a multidisciplinary program blending comprehensive physics knowledge with practical professional skills, networking prospects, and experiential learning designed for real-world applications. Alongside extensive physics coursework, students select technical electives in science, engineering, mathematics, or programming, supplemented by studies in data analysis, statistics, monitoring systems, and communications. The program mandates completion of an Engineering Senior Design Project, though interdisciplinary design work or internship experiences may be approved individually. This degree provides a foundation for private sector careers or advanced studies in fields like engineering and medicine.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Communication Skills, Effectively convey experimental findings and present engineering solutions through written reports and oral presentations.
Fundamental Physics Understanding, Mastery of core principles in classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, and thermodynamics.
Experimental Methodology, Develop, execute, and evaluate experiments to enhance engineering R&D and explore fundamental physical principles.
Analytical Techniques, Apply mathematical and computational methods to examine physical phenomena or refine technological solutions.
Collaborative Expertise, Work effectively within diverse teams to solve technical challenges across academic, governmental, and industrial settings.
