For those passionate about instructing in diverse K-8 settings, the Elementary Education major with ESL endorsement offers an ideal pathway. Educators specializing in elementary education with ESL qualifications possess distinctive abilities to guide varied student groups through their learning journeys. This two-year curriculum equips future teachers to enhance educational outcomes for all pupils, particularly English language learners. Participants graduate not only with a Bachelor of Arts in Education but also receive an Elementary Certificate K-8 featuring ESL endorsement. The program blends academic study at the University of Arizona with practical training at partner K-8 schools, allowing undergraduates to develop teaching skills through direct classroom experience. During field placements, aspiring educators collaborate with diverse student populations and mentor teachers committed to nurturing new teaching professionals.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country.
International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:
