An Art History major provides students with a thorough examination of art's cultural and political significance across different historical periods. The curriculum includes in-depth art history studies through detailed visual assessments, interaction with contemporary research, and diverse methodological perspectives. After building a foundation with introductory classes, students can focus on specialized areas such as Renaissance Europe, photographic history, Latin American art, and modern/contemporary movements. This program encourages intellectual development while equipping students with professional skills like research, writing, critical evaluation, persuasive communication, and cross-disciplinary analysis—valuable for various career paths.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Subject Mastery, Graduates will possess extensive knowledge of significant artworks, art terminology, and fundamental principles.
Analytical Skills, Students will develop advanced critical thinking abilities for evaluating art historical texts.
Academic Proficiency, Graduates will achieve competence in essential research and writing techniques relevant to art history.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country. International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:
