The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Humanities equips students pursuing careers in business, healthcare, and design – some of today's most vibrant and consistently in-demand professions, as highlighted by the World Economic Forum's Global Challenge Insight Report – with a cross-disciplinary education. This program merges professional expertise with the critical thinking, creativity, global awareness, and interpersonal skills cultivated through humanities studies, providing a competitive advantage in these evolving fields.
Participants also gain hands-on experience with essential administrative skills such as strategic planning, partnership development, client relations, and effective communication techniques frequently employed in leadership roles.
Rural areas often grapple with complex issues including economic downturns, shrinking populations, ecological concerns, healthcare disparities, racial inequities, and historical marginalization of indigenous communities. The Rural Leadership & Renewal concentration teaches innovative approaches to address these challenges through public humanities initiatives, agribusiness, digital commerce, eco-friendly ventures, and responsible tourism. Throughout the program, students cultivate expertise in initiative development, community revitalization, environmental conservation, business innovation, creative problem-solving, and cross-cultural understanding.
