The Department of Space Science at The University of Alabama in Huntsville welcomes applicants to its Master's and Doctoral programs each fall semester beginning in 2015. As a compact, research-intensive department, we cultivate skilled, independent scientists through our graduate programs. Students collaborate not only with our distinguished faculty but also with affiliated researchers from the Center for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research and NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, many of whom work alongside our faculty on campus. Our research spans diverse areas such as solar phenomena, heliospheric studies, space weather, interstellar interactions, cosmic radiation, and high-energy astrophysics. Graduates develop comprehensive scientific expertise, mastering analytical problem-solving, computational physics, data interpretation, and effective scientific communication.
