The Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a History and Social Studies focus equips future educators to teach various historical subjects, psychology, economics, political science, and related disciplines for grades 6 through 12. Through strategic course scheduling, students may simultaneously pursue this degree alongside a Bachelor of Arts in History. Graduates earn an ALSDE Class B Teaching Certification for Social Studies (6-12).
This Secondary Education BS program develops teaching professionals for middle and high school settings (grades 6-12). Students integrate advanced subject-area coursework with professional education training. The program holds accreditation from both the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), culminating in a Class B teaching credential for the chosen specialization.
