The Photography program at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) offers comprehensive training in Fine Art Photography.
Our curriculum guides students through photography's visual language, from historical roots to modern applications, helping them develop a unique photographic perspective.
The program covers both digital and traditional darkroom techniques for a thorough grasp of photographic methods. The Historic and Experimental darkroom course features 19th-century techniques and alternative processes, including a study-abroad component in England to explore photography's origins. Our digital resources feature a dedicated lab with 20 Apple Macintosh computers, scanners, and large-format printers up to 24 inches.
Facilities include a shared darkroom with 16 enlarger stations, three advanced private darkrooms with 4x5 enlargers, and a mural printing space. Students also have access to a 10x20 studio equipped with backdrops, professional lighting, and specialized gear.
International applicants must meet all established requirements for admission from secondary schools or from other colleges and universities.
