At its core, communication examines how messages create meaning in diverse settings. The Communication Arts program equips students with comprehensive abilities in verbal, written, and digital communication. Students begin with foundational courses like CM 113 (Public Speaking) and CM 231 (Foundations of Human Communication), gaining broad disciplinary knowledge. After completing essential coursework in rhetoric, communication theory, and research methods, learners choose specialized classes to develop professional and interpersonal communication skills.

Every communication arts student completes their studies with CM 431, a capstone experience where they integrate academic knowledge into a significant real-world project, demonstrating their mastery of communication principles.
