The Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) specializing in Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences offers an immersive academic and research program. Students in this MSPH track gain expertise in analyzing how environmental contaminants impact community health, master techniques for evaluating and mitigating environmental risks, and develop skills for effectively communicating scientific results.
Participants must select either environmental or occupational health as their specialization, completing focused research and a thesis project. The curriculum equips students to investigate their chosen field through mentored research that adheres to UAB Graduate School guidelines. This process involves selecting a research focus, assembling an advisory committee, defending a proposal, executing the study, writing a comprehensive thesis, and presenting findings. This specialization provides excellent preparation for doctoral studies or careers in research, public sector, or corporate settings.
