Students who complete the MSN Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) program gain expertise in providing advanced nursing care for infants, children, and adolescents across various healthcare environments. These specialized practitioners are trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat both acute and chronic complex health conditions in pediatric patients.
Designed with working nurses in mind, the program follows a part-time schedule delivered through a hybrid learning model. This approach combines live virtual classes with mandatory on-campus sessions, where students engage in hands-on labs and simulation exercises to develop critical clinical skills.
The program requires completion of 45 credit hours, including 35 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of supervised clinical practice with experienced pediatric acute care providers. Students typically finish the curriculum in six to seven consecutive semesters, depending on their start date.
