Operations management centers on examining, planning, and overseeing the processes that create and distribute products and services. It employs systematic, data-driven approaches to assess and structure business processes while facilitating informed decision-making. This field enables organizations to assess options and make choices through data interpretation, workflow evaluation, and mathematical modeling. These methodologies offer significant potential for implementation across diverse business areas such as service delivery, production, supply networks, transportation systems, inventory control, pricing strategies, quality assurance, financial operations, personnel management, technology systems, market analysis, and long-term strategy development. Nearly every organizational function can benefit from operations management principles. The OM graduate program offers two academic tracks: general operations management and operations management with a focus on analytical decision-making.
