The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics provides a Master of Science program in aerospace engineering and mechanics, available both on-campus and through distance learning via the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education. Students can obtain an MSAEM through coursework alone or by combining coursework with an approved thesis. Typically, distance learners choose the coursework-only path, while on-campus students with assistantships are required to complete an approved thesis.

Qualification Requirements

GPA: The applicant must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall, 3.0 for the last 60 semester hours in a degree program, or 3.0 for a completed graduate degree program.
RE: The applicant must have a score of 300 or higher on the GRE. Waived for UA undergraduates applying for AMP or applicants with a relevant master's degree or five years work-related experience.
TOEFL/IELTS: The applicant must have a score of 79 (iBT) or 6.5 (IELTS). Waived if applicant has an earned degree from a US institution.
TOEFL paper-based score of 550 and above
