JD candidates have the option to simultaneously pursue an LL.M. in Tax Program, specializing in either Taxation or Business Transactions. The taxation track equips students with hands-on expertise to advance their careers and prepare for tax-related legal work. Participants can select elective courses concentrating on Estate Planning or Business Taxation. For those focusing on business transactions, the program prepares them to assist corporate and tax clients across all stages of business development. This practical curriculum starts with business formation and entity selection, progressing through growth-phase financing, and potential restructurings or mergers as companies evolve. The specialization includes various elective business tax courses.
By enrolling in summer sessions after their second year, JD students can complete both degrees concurrently. With strategic course planning, they may eliminate the need for summer classes post-graduation. Note that LL.M. tuition rates will be charged for any courses taken after completing the JD program.
