The School of Law provides a specialized one-year Master of Laws (LL.M.) program designed for international legal professionals. This advanced degree is tailored for individuals who have obtained their primary law degree from a non-U.S. institution. Participants can choose from focused legal tracks including international business law, environmental law, or comparative law, or design a personalized curriculum aligned with their career objectives.
Ranked among the top 10 public law schools nationally by US News & World Report, the UA School of Law requires LL.M. candidates to complete two semesters of residency while enrolling in a minimum of 24 credit hours. Each student's coursework is individually structured in consultation with faculty advisors and International Programs Director Dan Joyner. Degree candidates must achieve at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and demonstrate substantive legal comprehension and scholarly aptitude. For non-native English speakers, the Dean may modify grading requirements, permitting pass/fail coursework and alternative assessment methods while maintaining rigorous academic standards.
