Operations management centers on examining, planning, and overseeing the processes that create and distribute products and services. It employs systematic, data-driven approaches to assess and structure business processes while facilitating informed decision-making. This discipline enables organizations to assess options and choose strategies through data interpretation, workflow examination, and mathematical modeling. These methodologies find extensive utility across diverse business functions such as service delivery, production, supply networks, transportation systems, inventory control, pricing strategies, quality assurance, financial operations, personnel management, technology infrastructure, market analysis, and long-term planning. Virtually every organizational element can benefit from operations management principles.
