As one of the fundamental liberal arts disciplines, history forms an essential part of university education. The liberal arts equip students not just for professional success, but for building purposeful lives. Specifically, examining humanity's past creates the basis for comprehending our world and developing the insight needed to thoughtfully influence what lies ahead.

Permission will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Dr. Daniel Riches, the Director of Graduate Studies, to make such a request: [email protected].

Each international applicant must hold the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution to be eligible for graduate admission. While individual departments may have more stringent requirements, bachelor degrees from Bologna Accord certified institutions are considered to meet this criterion. We do also consider Indian three-year degrees to be equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree.
