The foreign languages and literature major offers six specialized tracks: Classic Civilization, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Latin.
These concentrations provide diverse ways for students to explore both contemporary and historical cultures. Learners can join student organizations, gain membership in academic honor societies, and access international study programs. Proficiency in foreign languages significantly expands career and academic prospects. Classics scholars may qualify for the exclusive Classics Honors Program. Consult with an academic advisor for specific details.
Our alumni frequently pursue graduate studies or professional degrees at top-tier institutions worldwide. Notably, every classics applicant to medical school has been accepted since 1995. Graduates have gained admission to elite law programs, while others have pursued advanced degrees in Library Science or English/TESOL, or launched careers across government and industry sectors.
