The Political Science Department provides four graduate degree programs: the M.A., the M.A. with a Security Studies concentration, the Master of Applied Politics (M.A.P.), and the combined MAP/Juris Doctor (J.D.). The M.A. program features specializations in American government, International Relations/Comparative politics, and Criminal Justice. Earning the MA involves completing 30 graduate credit hours, which include six core seminars, two elective seminars, and six additional political science graduate credits. To graduate, students must produce an Essay of Distinction and pass comprehensive examinations during their final term.
