The School of Law and the College of Business (CoB) provide combined degree options, including a joint legal and administrative studies program (JDMBA), a joint legal and taxation studies track (JDMTax), and a joint legal and accounting curriculum (JDMSA). These interdisciplinary programs cater to students aiming for careers in corporate law, tax accounting, or government legal practice. Completing a joint degree takes less time than pursuing both degrees separately. Applicants must gain admission to both the School of Law and the Graduate School to enroll in these collaborative programs.
Participants must meet the School of Law's 88-credit requirement, which allows transferring up to ten credits from the College of Business. Conversely, law students can apply up to 13 program credits from law courses toward their business degree.
The core advantage of these joint programs lies in the mutual recognition of course credits between schools. The director of Graduate Programs in Business must approve all law courses counting toward business degree requirements before completion.
