To be eligible for the Computer Science Certificate Program, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in a different field and submit a formal application to the Computer Science department chair. This application should detail the student's objectives and motivations for joining the program. Participants must maintain at least a 2.00 GPA throughout the certificate program. To prevent excessive credit overlap between programs, elective credits completed for this certificate cannot be applied to other University of Akron programs (including majors, minors, or certificates). Furthermore, credits from the Computer Science certificate program are not transferable to the Computer Science Minor Program.
