Upon finishing an interdisciplinary five-year combined bachelor's/master's program, students will simultaneously earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in applied mathematics. After meeting the core course requirements for the undergraduate degree, students gain admission to graduate school to commence advanced studies. Most students complete the foundational undergraduate coursework by their third year. The final two years are dedicated to fulfilling the master's program requirements along with six elective credits for the bachelor's degree, which may include graduate-level courses. Students who participated in post-secondary programs or took AP courses prior to enrolling at the University of Akron may start their graduate studies sooner.
